The long awaited winter has come to an end and Baltimore is gleaming in all its
\nbeauty. This spring, make sure you take part in all that Charm City (and the
\nsurrounding area) has to offer. Below you will find several outdoor, kid-friendly
\nevents that are bound to entertain the entire family.<\/p>\n

April 26 & 27: Charm City Bluegrass Festival<\/strong><\/p>\n

Charm City Bluegrass Festival<\/a>, winner of the 2016 International Bluegrass
\nMusic Association (IBMA) Momentum Award for Event of the Year and 2018
\nBest Festival by Baltimore Magazine, invites music lovers and foodies to
\ngather in Druid Hill Park on Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27 for the
\nseventh annual celebration of bluegrass, folk and Americana with three
\nstages, 20 bands and two days of family-friendly festivities including local
\nfood, a limited release beer from Union Brewery, artists, a kids activity area
\nfeaturing animals from Irvine Nature Center, spontaneous jam sessions and
\nmore.<\/p>\n

General Admission varies but kids under 10 are FREE! Parking is free with
\ncost of admission.<\/p>\n

April 27-30: Day with Thomas the Train at B&O Railroad Museum<\/strong><\/p>\n

Day Out With Thomas is a fun-filled event that provides children of all ages
\nthe opportunity to climb aboard and take a ride with Thomas as well as
\nparticipate in Thomas & Friends\u2122 themed activities. The tour, now in its 24th
\nyear, will make 37 stops across the U.S. and Canada, and is expected to
\nwelcome nearly one million passengers in 2019. For two back-to-back
\nweekends at the
B&O Railroad Museum<\/a> little engineers and their families are
\ninvited to take a 25-minute train ride with their favorite engine, Thomas the
\nTank Engine, meet Sir Topham Hatt, Controller of the Railway and enjoy a
\nday of Thomas & Friends fun with crafts, photo ops, and more.
\nTickets are $22-$26 for ages 2 & up. Parking is free and available on site.<\/p>\n

April 27: Dia Del Nino\/ Kid\u2019s Day<\/strong><\/p>\n

Back for its ninth year on Pagoda Hill (Patterson Park), D\u00eda del Ni\u00f1o is a free
\nday of fun celebrating our community youth! Get excited for the many
\nactivities, including pi\u00f1atas, Folkloric dance performances, face painting,
\nsports and games, paper rockets, arts and crafts, giveaways, nature activities
\nand much more. Most activities are geared towards children 2 \u2013 12 years old.
\nBringing over 2,000 people to the park, all activities, performances, and food
\nare free and nothing is bought or sold during the event so that families can
\nenjoy all it has to offer without having to think about price! Rain date: April
\n28th.<\/p>\n

May 8: Bug\u2019s Life Playgroup<\/strong><\/p>\n

We\u2019re going BUGGY! Join (cool) progeny for a Cool Tot Time<\/a> that\u2019s all about
\nbugs at Brown Memorial Preschool. Dress to be outside as we search for
\nbugs, enjoy a story, make a bug craft, and have a snack. Tot times are
\ndesigned for children ages 1-5 and their caregiver. Babies under 12 months
\nof age are free!<\/p>\n

May 11: Annual African American Book Fair<\/strong><\/p>\n

Enjoy a fun-filled day focused on kids\u2019 literature about African Americans and
\npeople of other ethnicities. Enjoy author readings, illustration workshops,
\nlive performances, and art activities. Purchase hard-to-find titles in Book
\nVillage. 7th year.
Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland<\/a><\/p>\n

May 19: Baltimore Birth Festival<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Join vendors, care providers, local businesses, birth workers, and more for a
\nday of family fun and information on pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting
\nsupports available in the Baltimore area. The event includes face painting,
\nfood trucks, Kona Ice, a kid-friendly DJ, and over $4,000 in giveaways. Event
\nis held at Patterson Park and is free for the community.<\/p>\n
